Testimonials
Goran Gelic: "Firstly, I would like to comment that I did not like the male MC in the day show. He was annoying. Find someone else. Anissa was good. Keep her. Secondly, I found the food a wee bit expensive in contrast to the quality of the food that some of the stalls had to offer. I am not sure whether they saw this as an opportunity to sell mediocre food for more, but I hope that for this years’ festival, there could be a more competitive price- which hopefully would produce better quality food that are sold during the festival.
I found the atmosphere was not quite as interactive as one would like. This is evident during the games section that was held by the committee. It seemed that persuading the crowd was a bit hard during some of the games. I am not sure as to how you can fix this minor problem, however, I am sure you have in your arsenal a capable team for addressing this issue."
Chelsea Stamford: “As a whole, I found the event enjoyable and eventful, with a relaxed atmosphere. The environment was very family orientated and it catered to my children’s enjoyment as well as mine. Everyone there was welcoming and easy-going, especially the hosts and the people who organized the games. It was a culturally educating festival for my children and I.
This taste of Indonesia that Pesta Rakyat Displayed, definitely made my children and I curious to one-day travel to Indonesia. The food was great, however it was a tad expensive for my liking and maybe some plainer food could have been provided, as my children are picky when it comes to food. Overall, the people were very animated and friendly, and I would thoroughly enjoy attending this event in the years to come.”
Daniel Abuzar: “As an Indonesian student studying in Brisbane, the event was a great way for me to get to know many other students studying here. Not only did I meet other Indonesian students, but I also met students from Malaysia and many other Asian countries. I found that the food sold at this event brought me back to my roots in Indonesia and was actually very authentic.
I thought the prices could have been better for a student like myself but other than that I enjoyed the whole day. “Looking back on it, watching the performances by the bands on show and also the listening to music from traditional Indonesian instruments made the event very unique to Indonesia. it was interesting to see Australian’s also performing in this event which made it much more interesting and interactive to cultures other than Indonesians. I can’t wait for the 2010 event because I’m craving sate and many other Indonesian foods. Hope this year its even better then the last Pesta Rakyat.”
